Pericarditis. Informe de 20 casos

Abstract

Se presentan 20 pacientes a quienes se diagnosticó pericarditis en nuestro hospital, en el período comprendido de 1973 a 1978. De estos 20 casos, 13 eran agudas y 7 crónicas. Fallecieron 5, y 15 fueron dados de alta hospitalaria. Esta entidad resultó ser más frecuente en nuestra serie entre los 15 y 29 años de edad, así como también fue notable la incidencia en el sexo masculino y la raza blanca. El roce pericárdico, el color torácico y la disnea fueron síntomas y signos que orientaron en el diagnóstico de esta enfermedad. Se pone de manifiesto el origen, complicaciones y la importancia de los exámenes de laboratorio, electrocardiográficos y radiológicos en el diagnóstico de pericarditis, ya sean agudas o crónicas. Se revisa la literatura nacional y extranjera y se comparan nuestros resultados con los de otros autores.
