Enfermedad de Gilbert. Reporte de 6 casos tratados con fenobarbital

Abstract

Se revisan los coneeplos actuales sobre algunos aspectos del metabolismo de la bilirrubina y la fisiopatología de la enfermedad de Gilbert. Se presentan 6 casos de esta patología, uno de ellos deteetable después de una hepatitis, así como el resultado de su tratamiento con fenobarbital. El empleo del fenobarbital en todos los casos produjo un descenso de la bili- rrubina a cifras normales, ascendiendo ésta al suspender la droga. Se obtuvo también una desaparición de los síntomas acompañantes de la ictericia en estos casos, con reintegración de los pacientes a sus actividades laborales.
