Posible función del sodio en la fisiopatogenia de la hipertensión esencial
Abstract
Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica de la función del sodio en la fisiopatogenia de la hipertensión arterial esencial (HTA). Entre los argumentos esgrimidos se señalan factores evolutivos del desarrollo de la vida, los gustos alimentarios del hombre y los factores genéticos. Se evalúan distintas teorías que relacionan el sodio directa o indirectamente con la HTA: teoría del ambiente alto en sodio y bajo en potasio, teoría del desbalance glomérulo-tubular, teoría de la concentración del calcio intracelular como paso final común y la teoría de la hormona natriurética. Se concluye que aunque no hay oposición a la patogenia multifactorial de la HTA, un determinado número de tipos de hipertensión puede explicarse por una interrelación que pudiera existir entre los factores y teorías expuestas.Downloads
