Giardia lamblia: parásito predominante en pacientes con manifestaciones alérgicas

Abstract

Se estudian 200 pacientes afectados por manifestaciones alérgicas e infestación parasitaria, en la consulta externa de alergia del Policlínico de Especialidades Asclepios y Hospital Docente Clinicoquirúrgico “10 de Octubre", ambos en la Ciudad de La Habana. Se distribuyen los casos de acuerdo con sus edades y sexos. Se realizan exámenes Indispensables de laboratorio clínico, así como estudio bacteriológico, pruebas alérgicas estándares, recuento global de eosinófilos por mm3 de sangre periférica, rayos X de tórax, colecistografía oral, drenaje biliar y heces fecales. Se señala que antes del tratamiento antiparasitario específico, los pacientes tenían una evaluación tórpida, curando unos y mejorando otros su entidad alérgica (asma bronquial, rinitis, urticaria, dermatitis y conjuntivitis) una vez curado dicho parasitismo. Se indica que el parásito predominante fue la Giardia lamblia, detectada a través del drenaje biliar y heces fecales. Se informa que es evidente el parasitismo en la génesis de los procesos de hipersensibilidad, el cual influye en la patogenia, sobre todo la Giardia lamblia, esto concuerda con autores de otros países.
