Causas de muerte en hemodiálisis
Abstract
Se expone que durante el período comprendido entre enero de 1975 y enero de 1977, fallecieron ocho de los 38 pacientes en plan de hemodiálisis, con vistas a recibir un trasplante renal. En tres pacientes, la causa de muerte fue hemorragia cerebral, y otro con un cuadro de edema cerebral y herniación de las amígdalas cerebelosas. La hipe™ tensión arterial grave, y la hipervolemia fueron manifestaciones importantes que estu-vieron presentes en los pacientes fallecidos por alteraciones del sistema nervioso central. Dos pacientes fallecieron a la terminación de una hemodiálisis sin haberse podido precisar las causas de muerte. Otras causas de muerte fueron la insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, y el paro cardíaco por anemia grave durante el desarrollo de la hemodiálisis. Se destaca el mal pronóstico que presentan aquellos pacientes hipertensos o hipervolémicos que no puedan ser controlados adecuadamente.Downloads
