Esquizofrenia: tratamiento por la heparina

Abstract

Se plantea que los trabajos recientes sobre las endorfinas han sugerido la posible influencia de algunas de éstas en la patogenia de ciertos trastornos mentales. El resultado favorable informado con el tratamiento de hemodiáiisis en esquizofrénico  crónicos sería una confirmación de este punto de vista. Se señala que uno de los autores de este trabajo (R.L.) postuló la hipótesis de que ese resultado se debería a la heparinización del enfermo y no a la propia diálisis. La experiencia actual con el tratamiento heparínico  de esquizofrénicos crónicos apoya dicha hipótesis. Se sugiere que la lipasa lipoproteínica liberada por la heparina sería la responsable de una acción de regulación sobre el sistema lipotropinaendorfina. Se concluye que debe continuarse la investigación, y ampliarla con casos comenzantes.
