Abstract

Las neoplasias de intestino delgado representan menos del 5% de los tumores gastrointestinales. Dentro de las variedades histológicas el adenocarcinoma localizado en íleon es poco frecuente. Las manifestaciones clínicas inespecíficas y la dificultad para el diagnóstico radiológico determinan  con frecuencia un retardo en el tratamiento. La enterografía por tomografía computarizada es de elección para el diagnóstico y estadiamiento de estos tumores. En la enfermedad locoregional está  indicado el tratamiento quirúrgico.  Se presenta una mujer de 74 años con adenocarcinoma en íleon distal y evolución prolongada a la que se le realizó entero TC y posteriormente hemicolectomía derecha. El estudio histológico confirmó el diagnóstico de de adenocarcinoma. Este reporte evidencia la utilidad diagnóstica de la entero TC y alerta a los clínicos sobre el diagnóstico tardío de estos tumores poco frecuentes.
