Abstract

Objective: To review hypnosis and its role in the therapeutic management of psoriasis.

Methods: A systematic bibliographic review was carried out on the Internet, using search engines such as Google Scholar and other specific ones related to medicine such as MEDLINE, LILACS and SciELO.

Results: There are studies reporting that hypnosis reduces itching and discomfort of psoriasis, and produces structural changes and reduction of skin lesions.

Conclusions: The evidence reviewed indicates that hypnosis is used as an adjuvant in therapeutic plans for Psoriasis. It helps patients to manage and improve a wide variety of associated psychological and somatic alterations, thus favoring an improvement in the quality of life of patients.
