Causas de muerte y hallazgos necrósicos en 50 pacientes diabéticos del Hospital Provincial Docente Clinicoquirúrgico de Pinar del Río

Abstract

Se revisaron los protocolos de autopsias y las historias clínicas de los 50 diabéticos fallecidos en el Hospital Provincial Docente Clinicoquirúrgico de Pinar del Río durante el año 1984. En estos documentos se obtuvieron los datos de las enfermedades padecidas y hallazgos necrósicos y se encontró que las lesiones vasculares son frecuentes en estos pacientes, sobre todo la arteriosclerosis y que el infarto agudo del miocardio fue la principal causa de muerte entre los pacientes revisados. Se hicieron conclusiones y se recomendó, entre otras, la necesidad del buen control, y seguimiento efectivo de estos pacientes para evitar las lesiones vasculares, que son las más graves y frecuentes en ellos.
