Novel aspects of COVID-19

Introduction: SARS-CoV2 is the causative agent of COVID-19, which has claimed the lives of thousands of people in the world after its onset in Wuhan in 2019. An investigation was carried out on the characteristics of Covid-19 based on in the threat that this disease represents for the Republic of Cuba.
Objective: To describe the main characteristics of the virus, its antecedents and the various clinical manifestations, clinical and laboratory evolution and diagnosis, and the behavior to be followed in these patients and the care to be observed in the person.
Method: A bibliographic review of the main articles published in the specialized press was developed, through Pubmed, Hinari, SciELO, Scholar Google search engines, 23 articles were chosen.
Conclusions: Covid-19 is a disease with high contagion and non-negligible mortality, for which urgent measures of prevention and treatment of the patients must be taken.
