Determinación de las proteínas de Bence Jones en 2469 pacientes (I)
Abstract
Se efectuó un estudio de la excreción por la orina de las proteínas de Bence Jones en2 469 pacientes, utilizando la doble inmunodifusión Ochterlony1 con el objetivo de esclarecer su frecuencia en enfermedades de tumores malignos, en diversas enfermedades entre las que se incluyen las nefropatías primarias, así como establecer, en los casos con PBJ que la excretan la frecuencia con que se asocia a orinas patológicas. Se obtuvieron resultados interesantes como: 21,0% en pacientes con tumores malignos "activos", ingresados en el Instituto de Oncología y Radiobiología, más del 30% de los casos con PBJ presentaban, en el momento de su excreción, orinas patológicas. Esto induce a tomar el criterio de que la PBJ excretada por la orina debe tomarse en cuenta y detectar su presencia con la técnica descrita. En los casos positivos, se debe cuantificar y controlar su excreción. Es posible atribuirle alguna relación con procesos de tumores malignos. Se estudiaron 2 469 casos.
