Estudio de los niveles basales de HDL-colesterol en hombres y mujeres normopesos y obesos. Estudio preliminar
Abstract
Se estudió una muestra de 251 sujetos de quienes 116 eran hombres, cuyas edades oscilaban entre 18 y 40 años; y 99 mujeres en edades comprendidas entre 21 y 38 años. Ambos grupos fueron subdividídos en normopesos y obesos (más del 20% de sobrepeso corporal). Ninguno presentaba nefropatía, hepatopatía, hiperlipoproteinemias, diabetes mellitus ni endocrinopatías. En todos se determinó colesteroLíotal. triglicéridos, HDL- colesterol y LDL-C previo ayuno de 12 horas. Se proponen las cifras normales de' HDL-C para hombres normopesos: de 47,51 mg/dl (DS = 6,91); y para mujeres normopesos: de 48,73 mg/dl (DS = 9,86). En los obesos de uno y otro sexos se comprobaron niveles elevados de triglicéridos, así como disminución de los valores do HDL-colesterol. Se concluye que la obesidad per se es un factor de riesgo vascular.Downloads
