Antígeno Australia y su anticuerpo correspondiente. Incidencia en donantes del Banco de Sangre de Santiago de Cuba
Abstract
Se investigó el antígeno Australia (antígeno asociado con la hepatitis B) en 10 572 donantes que concurrieron al Banco de Sangre Provincial de Santiago de Cuba, durante el segundo semestre de 1979. Se empleó el método de electroforesis de Cruce, usando juegos de reactivo “Austragen" procedentes de Viena, Austria. Se detectaron 74 donantes portadores del antígeno para una incidencia de 0,7%. En 3 941 del total de donantes, se investigó simultáneamente el anticuerpo Anti-Australia, detectándose seis bandas de precipitación, para un 0,15% de incidencia. Se expresó que aun cuando existen otras técnicas más sensibles para la detección del antígeno Australia, la electroforesis de Cruce permite la exclusión de donantes portadores, reduciendo la incidencia de hepatitis postransfusional.Downloads
