Morbilidad psiquiátrica infantil en Guinea Bissau
Abstract
Los autores realizan un estudio de morbilidad psiquiátrica en menores de 15 años, de consulta externa de psiquiatría de los hospitales nacionales "Simao Mendes” y "3 de Agosto”; en Bissau, capital de la República de Guinea Bissau, durante los años 1978 y 1979. Se analizan las variables de edad, procedencia y grupo étnico. Los trastornos psiquiátricos que se observaron con mayor frecuencia fueron el retraso mental y la epilepsia. Las enuresis en baja proporción, se encuentra en forma similar en los dos años, con 10,0 y 9,1 respectivamente. Se hace énfasis en la necesidad de incrementar el diagnóstico precoz de los trastornos psiquiátricos orgánicos o funcionales en este medio para un mejor manejo del paciente pediátrico.Downloads
