Concentración de cobre y cinc en suero de pacientes arteríticos

Abstract

Se estudió la concentración de cinc y cobre séricos en 31 pacientes a quienes se diag nosticó arteritis, clínica y arteriográflcamente. El grupo control estaba constituido por 18 donantes voluntarios del sexo masculino. Se halló una disminución en la concentración de cinc sérico correspondiente al grupo de pacientes, aunque la misma no resultó estadísticamente significativa. Al estudiar el comportamiento de este parámetro en relación con las lesiones distales presentes en un subgrupo de arteríticos, tampoco se halló diferencia con respecto a los pacientes sin lesiones. La elevación en la concentración de cobre sérico, hallado en el grupo arterítico, resultó altamente significativa (p < 0,005), coincidiendo con lo informado por otros autores en pacientes con tromboangiitis. Este resultado indica la posible función del cobre en esta enfermedad.
