Meningoencefalitis por cryptococcus neoformans (Torula histolítica). Reporte de 4 casos
Abstract
Se presentan 4 casos de meningoencefalitis por Cryptococcus neoformans, haciendo una revisión de la literatura. Discutimos los aspectos clínicos, de evolución, patológicos y prono ticos de esta entidad. Se señalan las alteraciones electroencefalográficas en la torulosis y se discute su posible relación con la administración de anfotericin. La terapéutica a emplear es analizada, haciendo énfasis en el tratamiento con manitol, de la hipertensión intracraneal en estos pacientes. Destacamos las alteraciones del LCR y su valor diagnóstico. Así como la importancia de tener en cuenta esta posibilidad ante todo caso sospechoso de meningiencefalitis TB con un conteo celular de menos de 50.Downloads
