Mieloma múltiple. Estudio inmunológico

Abstract

Se estudió un grupo de pacientes con mieloma múltiple en distintas fases de la enfermedad. En el momento del diagnóstico IQS valores promedios de leucocitos, linfocitos, roseta E, roseta EAC y transformación blástica inducida por la fitohemaglutinina (PHA) estaban dentro del rango normal. En los pacientes tratados se encontró leucopenia, lin- fopenia, disminución de los valores absolutos de los linfocitos formadores de rosetas E y EAC y disminución de la respuesta a la PHA. Las inmunoglobulinas policlonales estaban deprimidas, tanto en los pacientes tratados como no tratados. Se comentan las diferentes alteraciones inmunológicas del mieloma y se señalan las teorías propuestas para explicar la alteración funcional de las células B en esta enfermedad. Se destaca la función asignada a las células supresoras.
