Análisis del infarto agudo del miocardio durante 3 años en una unidad de terapia intensiva de un hospital provincial

Abstract

Se estudian tres años de trabajo (1974-1976) de la unidad de terapia intensiva (UTI) del Hospital Provincial Docente de Santa Clara, en cuanto a la atención del paciente con infarto agudo del miocardio. En este período fueron ingresados 375 pacientes como sospechosos de presentar infarto; el diagnóstico fue confirmado en el 69,7%. La letalidad fue mayor en la mujer, y la frecuencia predominó en pacientes del sexo masculino; ésta aumentó en relación directa con la edad. La letalidad fue del 17,3% en la UTI y del ‘,6% en las salas del hospital, para una cifra global del 21,9%. La disritmia cardíaca fue la complicación más frecuente. La mitad del total de los pacientes en quienes se presentó el paro cardíaco por fibrilaclón ventricular, fueron egresados vivos del hospital.
