Diagnóstico clínico, anatomopatológico y electromiográfico de la polimiositis: Revisión general y presentación de nuestra casuística de 23 pacientes

Abstract

Se hace una revisión somera de los aspectos más importantes del diagnóstico clínico, anatomopatológico y electromiográfico de la polimiositis, con una muy breve introducción a los aspectos actuales de la fisiopatologia. Se presentan además, algunos elementos de la casuística del instituto, en relación con el valor para el diagnóstico del estudio combinado de la biopsia muscular, el electromiograma y las enzimas del suero. Se insiste en la necesidad de "descubrir" a estos pacientes entre los frecuentemente diagnosticados como distrofias musculares, polineuritis, miastemia gravis, artritis y otros procesos, ya que su reconocimiento adecuado y una terapéutica racional y en tiempo, logra mejorías y curaciones importantes.
