Abstract

Rojas O el huí F. El policlinico y la asistencia a pacientes ambulatorios en Cuba. Rev. Cub. Med. 10: 2, 1971.
Se define el policlinico y se describen sus características y filosofía de trabajo. Se examinan datos del número de policlínicos y su evolución estructural entre 1962 y 1969. Igualmente se revisa la información sobre consultas externas médicas entre 1963 y 1969, según años, provincias, especialidades y grupos de edad. Se hace referencia al estado actual de la cobertura de estos servicios y se presenta una comparación internacional de la razón consultas por 100 habitantes.
El “policlinico integral” es la institución médica que desarrolla actividades de protección, promoción y recuperación de la salud sobre la población de un área determinada, mediante servicios que alcanzan el ambiente familiar y laboral.
