Cáncer del cuello uterino: Tratamiento y supervivencia, años 1966-1970
Abstract
Se plantea que las neoplasias malignas del cuello uterino ocupan el 2do. lugar en frecuencia en la mujer cubana. Su tratamiento es esencialmente con radiaciones ionizantes, ya que la cirugía se reserva para las etapas preclínicas y microinfiltrantes. Se presentan los resullados obtenidos en una serie de 1 592 pacientes tratadas en el Instituto de Oncología y Radiobiología, en Ciudad de La Habana, y en el Hospital Oncológico Docente, de Santiago de Cuba. La supervivencia global de 5 años fue del 54,4%, con 80,9% en la etapa I; 56,5% en la II; 35,9% en la III; y 11,1% en la IV. No se observan diferencias r,:i la supervivencia entre las portadoras de carcinomas epidermoides diferenciados, indi- ferenciados y adenocarcinomas. El mejor resultado se obtuvo en las pacientes en quienes se pudo aplicar el Ra intracavitario seguido de la irradiación externa a los parame- trios. La complicación más frecuentemente encontrada fue la proctitis facticia.Downloads
