Sistema especializado de conducción del impulso eléctrico en el corazón: aspectos embriológicos

Abstract

Se discuten algunos aspectos embriológicos del sistema especializado de conducción del impulso eléctrico en el corazón para tratar de ofrecer una panorámica de este campo actualmente, mediante el análisis de trabajos que se consideran fundamentales. Se aprecian posibles aplicaciones prácticas de estos conocimientos, y se expone su trascendencia para la electrocardiografía clínica. Se discute la existencia de automatismo en la aurícula izquierda (no se aconseja este término en la clínica, pues traería confusión). Se tratan brevemente los ritmos de la unión AV y la capacidad de despolarizaron diastólica lenta espontánea, de las fibras musculares de la válvula mitral, y por último se ofrece un esbozo de cómo influyen las variaciones anatómicas del sistema de conducción sobre los hechos electrofisíológicos, y por tanto electrocardiográfícos: cómo en ocasiones éstos reflejan primariamente la anatomía del sistema de conducción, frente a otras enfermedades en que esto no sucede así.
