Enfermedades asociadas al síndrome de Klinefelter

Abstract

Se investigan las enfermedades asociadas al síndrome de Klinefelter en un grupo de 71 pacientes. Se señala que las enfermedades más frecuentes fueron: neurosis de distintos tipos (28,2%); asma bronquial (23,9%); bocio eutiroideo (21,1%); bronquitis crónica (16,9%); alergia cutánea (15.6%); várices en miembros inferiores (11,3%) y anemia (11,3%). En menos del 10% de los pacientes se presentaron las siguientes enfermedades: reacciones psicóticas, bronconeumonía, obesidad, alcoholismo, angiomas cutáneos y epilepsia. Se observaron otras asociaciones en pacientes aislados. Se concluye que la diabetes mellltus fue más frecuente en estos pacientes que en la población general. Se comparan nuestros resultados con los registrados en la literatura médica, y se discuten algunas hipótesis etiopatogénicas de algunas de las asociaciones.
