Dosimetría de la radiumterapia del cáncer del cuello del útero

Abstract

Se presenta el método dosimétrico seguido en el Instituto Nacional de Oncología y Radiobiología para la determinación de la dosis en los puntos del campo de radiación de fuentes lineales de Radium 226, utilizados intracavitariamente en el tratamiento del cáncer del cuello uterino. Mediante la localización radiográfica de las fuentes implantadas y el cálculo electrónico de la dosis radiante, el método desarrollado muestra ser altamente preciso y posibilita individualizar el tratamiento.
