Aspectos evolutivos de la trombocitemia primaria

Abstract

Se presentan cinco pacientes, posiblemente afectos de trombocitemia primaria. Se comprobaron en todos, cifras persistentemente elevadas de plaquetas, así como también en los cinco estuvo presente la esplenomegalia, asociada a fenómenos hemorrágicos, trombóticos o a ambos. Se señala que debe estarse avisado sobre la coagulación intravascular diseminada como una de las complicaciones más temibles de esta enfermedad. Se insiste en el tratamiento profiláctico de los fenómenos trombóticos con antiagregantes plaqueta- rios y se destaca la importancia evolutiva de esta entidad por la posible transformación en una leucosis u otra de las formas clínicas del síndrome mieloproliferativo. Se concluye insistiendo en la mayor supervivencia cuando se trata de las formas pura, crónica y benigna, siempre que se eviten profilácticamente los fenómenos trombóticos.
