Diagnóstico imagenológico de feocromocitoma bilateral en el curso de neurofibromatosis tipo 1

El feocromocitoma es un tumor endocrino poco común de células cromafines. El 90 % de estos tumores son benignos y solo el 10 % malignos, por lo que es poco frecuente. La alta mortalidad que origina, y el hecho de que la mayoría sean curables quirúrgicamente, hacen que sea importante no demorar el diagnóstico. Se presenta una paciente que acudió a consulta de urgencias del Hospital Provincial Clínico Quirúrgico Docente ¨Celia Sánchez Manduley¨ de Manzanillo, por presentar dolor abdominal con dos meses de evolución, acompañado de vómitos que aparecían después de la ingestión de alimentos. Se realizó ecografía abdominal y tomografía axial computarizada abdomino-pélvica que evidenciaron imágenes compatibles con tumores suprarrenales bilaterales de feocromocitomas asociado a neurofibromatosis tipo 1. Por la baja frecuencia de este tipo de patologías se consideró relevante presentar este caso interesante y los procedimientos realizados a través de imágenes para llegar a su diagnóstico.
