Abstract
Cuando hoy entramos en una catedral gótica aún sentimos que desde sus ventanales y capiteles se precipita sobre nosotros una fauna extraña, jauría de grifos, gárgolas y dragones, que aprisionados en la cárcel gótica, esa “trampa de la fantasía”, parecían esperar la hora de lanzarse a cazar la bestia del Infinito. Así debió sentirse el hombre al entrar en la Edad Media, cuando sobre él se desplomó la jauría de belleza y cochambrería, romanticismo y brutalidad, caballerosidad y sadismo, que caracterizó la época de las Cruzadas, las catedrales góticas, la “Divina Comedia” y los Cantares de Gesta.Downloads
