Resultado de los tratamientos en los carcinomas de la nasofaringe
Abstract
Se inscribieron 36 pacientes portadores de neoplasia maligna de la nasofaringe en el Hospital Oncológico de Santiago de Cuba" durante el período comprendido desde 1963 a 1970; de ellos, 26 fueron diagnosticados como que padecían carcinoma; 7, linfomas, y uno sarcoma. Se trataron 21 casos de carcinomas de la nasofaringe. Los tratamientos fueron de radiación en dosis variables entre 5 y 6 500 rad., con una supervivencia global de 38,1% a los 5 años, que varió desde el 66,7%, en la etapa II, hasta el 30,8% en la IV. Los peores pronósticos aparecen unidos al tamaño y extensión del tumor, más que a la presencia y fijeza de las adenopatías. El número de fallecidos se estabilizó a partir del tercer año de evolución.Downloads
