Abstract

Se presenta un breve resumen de las “raíces” principales del “método clínico”. Se enfatiza en la originalidad e importancia de su conceptualización y propuestas para su práctica, por los profesores Fidel Ilizástigui Dupuy y Luis Rodríguez Rivera en su monografía publicada en 1989 y su trascendencia para la formación y ejercicio de los profesionales de la salud. Se mencionan aportes posteriores que han enriquecido el conocimiento sobre el tema, sobre todo de autores cubanos. Se valora la existencia (o no) de una escuela cubana de método clínico. Se reflexiona acerca de la situación actual de la aplicación del método clínico, así como viejas y nuevas interrogantes y posibles soluciones para las barreras que se interponen en su adecuado empleo.
