Abstract

Se presenta un método de determinación fiel gasto energético aplicable a distintas especialidades militares y que requiere un mínimo de equipo y personal lo cual lo pone al alcance del médico de tropa. También podría utilizarse con macheteros u otras especialidades laborales de la vida civil. Se presentan los resultados de nuestras 2 primeras aplicaciones del método en Cuba. Estos resultados de orden cuantitativo, complementados con otras investigaciones de tipo cualitativo sobre vitaminas, minerales y otros nutrientes, pueden servir para la elaboración de normas dietéticas funda-mentadas para los distintos tipos de tropas. Se presenta y analiza el estado actual de la dieta en las dos unidades estudiadas sobre todo para que pueda servir de elemento de comparación con estudios posteriores. Después de la ex-periencia obtenida, se considera conveniente aumentar el número de hombres de la muestra. Debe tenerse presente que en las FAR pueden llegarse a producir dificultades  que hagan impracticable la investigación si tal aumento fuera inuy grande.
