Abstract

El Hospital Docente “Cmdte. Manuel Fajardo”, antiguamente llamado “Hospital Nuestra Sra. de las Mercedes”, es un hospital general, de 449 camas. Este hospital tenía una tradición de hospital quirúrgico, y hasta el triunfo de nuestra Revolución, cumplía función solamente asistencial, limitada por una organización arcaica, y parcialmente una función docente.
