El uso de los Adrenocorticoesteroides en el tratamiento de la Insuficiencia Cardiaca Congestiva
Abstract
Con el fin de mejorar el cuadro “pulmonar’ en ciertos casos de insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, con “factor” asmatiforme, comenzamos a emplear en su tratamiento la Prednisona sin modificar en nada, el tratamiento clásico de la insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva.La mejoría que obtuvimos no solamente en la sintomatología pulmonar, sino en el cuadro general de la insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, nos llevó a emplear la Prednisona en el trata-miento de toda insuficiencia cardíaca grave.
La empleamos en 70 casos prácticamente irreductibles.
En 40 casos, vimos reducirse la insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva empleando 4 tabletas en 24 horas, contentivas de
5 mg. de Prednisona.
Sólo se observaron modificaciones electrolíticas dentro de límites “fisiológicos” después del tratamiento.
En ninguno de los 30 casos en que pudimos dosificar el Cl, Na, y K, en plasma, encontramos alteraciones electrolíticas que explicaran la irreductibilidad de la insuficiencia cardíaca.
