Purple urine bag syndrome is a rare condition associated with urinary tract infection in patients with bladder catheterization. We report the case of an 82-year-old patient diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia who used a urinary catheter. He presented with purple urine associated with irritative urinary symptoms. Pharmacological management and urinary catheter replacement were indicated, and symptom were solved. This case is reported with the aim of identifying risk factors and reducing the risk of complications in patients with purple urine syndrome.
