Educational Intervention for Imaging Diagnosis in Primary Care Physicians

Introduction: The imaging analysis of known and emerging diseases is in continuous change in the Cuban health system; this requires continuous training of health professionals.
Objective: To evaluate the implementation of an intervention strategy on the imaging diagnosis of respiratory diseases in basic general practitioners at the first level of medical care.
Methods: A pre-experimental investigation was carried out, based on an educational intervention study about the imaging diagnosis of respiratory diseases; the universe was made up of basic general practitioners of the first level of care, from Juana Naranjo León University community clinic in Sancti Spíritus in 2022. A sample of 30 was chosen from them, selected at random by simple random sampling. These subjects agreed to receive the postgraduate course. The variable used was level of knowledge before and after the course. The activity consisted of a diagnostic, intervention and evaluation phase. The information was processed and the results were presented in tables.
Results: The study specified the strengths and weaknesses, the precision of the specific objectives and a system of actions for each procedure, as well as a system to control and evaluate the effectiveness of the actions carried out.
Conclusions: The intervention managed to improve the level of knowledge of basic general practitioners at the first level of medical care regarding the imaging diagnosis of respiratory diseases.
