Efecto negativo de la furosemida en el curso de la hemorragia subaracnoidea

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio comparativo de 106 pacientes que presentaban una hemorragia cerebral, fallecidos en el Instituto de Neurología y Neurocirugía; 81 de los cuales estaban bajo tratamiento con furosemida (a 20 de los mismos se les asoció un antibiótico nefrotóxico del tipo ceporán y la gentamicina); el resto no recibió este tipo de medicamento. Se trató de demostrar ei posible daño renal, fundamentalmente tubular, que dicho diurético pudiera provocar, valorándose parámetros clínicos, humorales e hísticos. En nuestro estudio no se verificaron lesiones hísticas renales secundarias a la furosemida ni a los antibióticos potencialmente nefrotóxicos. Resaltamos el valor protector de la furosemida sobre el túbulo renal, cuando es administrado antes que los nefrotóxicos.
