Coma hiperosmolar. Análisis de 12 casos
Abstract
Se revisaron las historias clínicas de los pacientes con diagnóstico de coma hiperosmolar del Hospital General Docente "Enrique Cabrera”, en el período de 1980 a 1984. Se registraron 12 pacientes que reunían los criterios clínicos humorales del mismo. Cinco pacientes se manifiestan como diabéticos con la enfermedad y 7 de los casos tenían más de 60 años de edad. El cuadro clínico más frecuente fue la poliuria, polidipsia, confusión, deshidratación y coma. La mortalidad de la serie fue del 41%. El tratamiento utilizado consistió en soluciones salinas (al 0,9%) e hipotónlcas, así como dosis de insulina simple que oscilaron entre 50 y 70 unidades, el primer día.Downloads
