El ácido bórico como preservativo de las muestras de orina para el estudio bacteriológico
Abstract
Se estudiaron 832 muestras de orina procedentes de pacientes remitidos por sospecha de infección urinaria, trabajadas en dos etapas consecutivas: 200 muestras iniciales y 632 con posterioridad, en un período aproximado de 80 días, en las cuales se usó el ácido bórico como preservativo y se pudo comprobar su utilidad en el transporte y conservación de dichas muestras. Su empleo permite además la realización del urocultivo en cual- quier laboratorio del país, independientemente del tiempo y la distancia, a la vez que resulta un medio sensible, específico y económico.Downloads
