Abstract

Se informan seis casos de enfermedad de Waldenstróm estudiados en el orden clínico y humoral, y se destaca la diversidad de formas clínicas presentes. Se hizo evidente la presencia de manifestaciones hemorrágicas e infecciones; esta última asociada frecuentemente a una inmunodeficiencia secundaria. Llama la atención la presentación de herpes zoster en dos enfermos. La anemia estuvo presente en la totalidad de los pacientes con una persistente elevación de las cifras de eritrosedímentación. Es fundamental el estudio inmunológico como complemento del estudio hematológico clásico. Todos los pacientes sobrepasaron la edad de 50 años.
