La diabetes mellitus en nuestro medio. Manifestaciones clínicas. Complicaciones. Causas de muerte
Abstract
Se realiza un estudio de pacientes con diabetes mellitus, en el hospital provincial docente "Manuel Ascunce Domenech", de Camagüey durante el año 1980. Dicho estudio comprendió edad, sexo, color de la piel, tipo de diabetes mellitus, motivo de ingreso, síntomas y signos. Se detallan a la vez los procesos infecciosos (51,4%) que fueron las complicaciones que más se presentaron, así como otros en orden de frecuencia; se señalan las infecciones como la causante del mayor número de defunciones, seguidas por los trastornos de tipo vascular. Se revisa la literatura disponible en nuestro medio y se comparan nuestros resultados con los de otros autores.Downloads
