Acción hipotensora del verapamil oral y de su asociación con oxprenolol
Abstract
Se estudió el efecto antihipertensivo del verapamil y de su asociación con oxprenolol^ en pacientes hipertensos esenciales moderados. La administración de verapamil con una dosis diaria de 320 mg produjo una reducción de la presión arterial de 172,7/120,0 ± 23,7/9,8 a 150,0/99,3 ± 15,6/5,3 mm Hg (D < 0,01). La asociación medicamentosa redujo la presión arterial del valor control a 145,6/95,3 ± 16,8/6,9 mm Hg (p<0,01). La frecuencia cardíaca fue disminuida por ambos tratamientos, aunque más significativamente por la asociación medicamentosa. El intervalo PR fue prolongado de forma significativa por los dos tratamientos (p < 0,01). La asociación de oxprenolol acortó el intervalo QTc, que fue prolongado por la monoterapia con verapamil. Se concluye que la monoterapia con verapamil puede ser efectiva en el tratamiento de la hipertensión esencial moderada y que su efecto se potencia por la adición de un betabloqueador.
