Estudio del complemento en las polirradiculoneuritis aguda tipo Landry-Guillain-Barré-Stróhl

Abstract

Se estudió la actividad del complemento en los sueros de 15 pacientes con polirradiculo- neuritis aguda tipo Landry-Guillain-Barré-Stróhl, tomando muestras sucesivas en diferentes períodos de evolución de la enfermedad. Se encontró una baja actividad del complemento en 6 de los 15 pacientes y, en general, se evidenció una tendencia a subir en las muestras sucesivas. Aun cuando se analizaron las diferencias en cuanto a edad, duración de los períodos de evolución y de los grados de extensión, intensidad y “severidad" del proceso entre el grupo con actividad inicial baja y el grupo con actividad normal, se consideró que la muestra total examinada no permite conclusiones estadísticamente válidas.
