Abstract

La dermatología en sus orígenes mantuvo ligada su suerte al resto de la Medicina Interna, y como tal fue considerada una parte de ésta. Su desenvolvimiento, primeramente, estuvo relacionado al curso y evolución de la medicina en general, sin embargo, fue científicamente reconocida y orientada como una especialidad médica, relativamente tarde en esta evolución.
Los obstáculos para su desarrollo fueron numerosos, por lo cual, necesitó extensos períodos de tiempo, permaneciendo estática principalmente por razón de su carácter peculiar, por ser su sintomatología atinentemente visual, sufrió mucho más que otras especialidades médicas, por su falta o carencia de su propio medio de expresión verbal, para la sintomatología vista, esto trajo como consecuencia dificultades para los practicantes de esta ciencia.
