Rehabilitación del paciente hemipléjico

Abstract

Los accidentes vasculares encefálicos (AVE) constituyen una afección frecuente dentro de las enfermedades vasculares. Su secuela, la hemiplejía, es elemento clínico fundamental y a su vez el factor invalidante más importante del proceso. Es necesario, por tanto, aplicar a estos enfermos una terapéutica física que alivie la pérdida de las habilidades; mientras más pronto se aplique esta terapéutica los resultados pueden ser progresivamente mejores. Se revisan los casos de 35 pacientes que recibieron este tratamiento rehabilitador en distintos estadios de su enfermedad y, de acuerdo con el resultado, se clasifican en: rehabilitación completa: 5 pacientes; rehabilitación moderada: 24 pacientes; rehabilitación ligera: 3 pacientes; rehabilitación nula: 3 pacientes. Los accidentes isquémicos predominaron sobre los demás, con 29 casos para el 83%.
