Geriatría en la comunidad
Abstract
Se presentan los resultados del estudio de 1 128 pacientes procedentes de la consulta domiciliaria de los policlínicos Centro y Oeste en la ciudad de Camagüey, en el período comprendido del 1ro. de septiembre de 1976 al 28 de febrero de 1977. Todos fueron vistos por un mismo médico. Del total, 594 correspondían al área de salud Centro; y 534 al Oeste. Hubo predominio de pacientes del sexo femenino en ambas áreas, y el grupo de edad más afectado fue el integrado por pacientes con más de 75 años. Sólo 37 tenían menos de 65 años, quienes eran impedidos físicos. La gripe, artropatía degenerativa e insuficiencia cardíaca fueron los motivos de consulta más frecuentes, seguidos de: hipertensión arterial, diabetes mellitus, accidentes vasculares encefálicos (residuales), demencia senil, neumopatía inflamatoria y linfangitis aguda. Se señalan criterios acerca de una visión integral del anciano desde el punto de vista biopsicosocial.Downloads
