La importancia de la hipertensión arterial
Abstract
Las enfermedades cardiovasculares constituyen la primera causa de muerte en la mayoría de los países incluyendo el nuestro. Dentro del problema de salud que ellas representan, la hipertensión arterial es una de las afecciones que con mayor frecuencia lleva a padecer de lesiones del corazón y de los vasos. La cardiopatía isquémica es la principal causa de muerte dentro de las enfermedades cardiovasculares y la hipertensión arterial es uno de los más importantes factores de riesgo coronario. Pero no sólo se lesionan las coronarias en el hipertenso, sino que se dañan igualmente las arterias del cerebro y del riñón. La hipertensión arterial produce muertes por: infarto cardíaco, insuficiencia cardíaca, trombosis cerebral, hemorragia cerebral e insuficiencia renal.Downloads
